Karibi-George Miss World journey reaches its biggest stage on Saturday as Miss World Nigeria 2026, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, prepares to represent the country at the grand finale in Nha Trang, Vietnam.
The 26-year-old Bayelsa-born beauty queen has chosen to showcase Nigeria through two specially designed outfits — an evening gown featuring the national colours and a costume inspired by her Niger Delta heritage.
Karibi-George unveils Nigerian-themed gown
Ahead of the finale, Karibi-George unveiled her evening gown in green, white and green, describing the outfit as a representation of home and national pride.
Sharing photos of the dress on Instagram, she said the design was created to allow Nigeria to make a statement without words.
The beauty queen said the details of the gown reflected the Nigerian flag and the country that had supported her throughout her pageant journey.
She added that she would step onto the final stage with pride, carrying Nigeria with her wherever she goes.
Niger Delta heritage inspires national costume
Karibi-George’s second outfit draws inspiration from the “Amazon of the Mangrove,” with the costume paying tribute to the women, culture and natural environment of the Niger Delta.
She described the design as a celebration of the strength of women and the resilience of the people of the region.
According to her, the costume represents an important part of her identity and reflects the environment in which she was raised.
“It’s a story deeply rooted in home. It represents the resilience of my people and a piece of the place that shaped me,” she said.
Nigeria’s representative earns Top 40 spot
Karibi-George secured a place among the Top 40 contestants after emerging as the Top Model for Africa winner on August 28.
She defeated representatives from Equatorial Guinea, Botswana, Kenya and South Africa to claim the continental title.
The achievement gave Nigeria an additional boost ahead of the Miss World finale.

Federal Government backs Karibi-George
The Federal Government has also called on Nigerians to support the beauty queen as she competes for the Miss World crown.
Minister of Art, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, praised Karibi-George’s performance and encouraged Nigerians to rally behind the country’s representative.
Karibi-George was crowned Miss World Nigeria on June 6 at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos, after defeating 19 other finalists.
She succeeded Joy Mojisola Raimi as Miss World Nigeria.
Miss World finale holds in Vietnam
The Miss World grand finale is scheduled for Saturday at 7pm Vietnam time, with 111 delegates expected to compete for the crown.
Outgoing Miss World Opal Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand will make her final appearance before handing over the title to her successor.
The event will be hosted by 66th Miss World Stephanie del Valle and reigning Mr World Danny Mejía.
Across Africa, Canal+ and MultiChoice are scheduled to broadcast the event live, while viewers in areas without a television broadcast can access the event through the official Miss World platform.
