FOLA has given his mother an unforgettable surprise, gifting her a brand-new grey Lexus SUV and a church building of her own after years of building his career in the Nigerian music industry.
The fast-rising Nigerian singer and songwriter, whose real name is Folarin Odunlami, shared the emotional moment on social media, showing his mother’s overwhelming reaction as she discovered the gifts.
In the video, Fola’s mother could barely contain her excitement when she saw the Lexus SUV waiting for her. She jumped for joy, danced across the lawn and warmly embraced her son as the reality of the surprise sank in.
But the car was only part of the surprise.
Fola also fulfilled another major wish his mother had shared with him — owning a church building of her own.
According to the singer, the two gifts were connected to a conversation he had with his mother when his music career was beginning to gain momentum.
He recalled asking her what she wanted, and she mentioned both a particular Lexus SUV and her dream of having her own church building.
“When things started to align, I randomly asked my mother what she wanted and she said she wanted her own church building and this specific car,” Fola said while sharing the special moment.
“I thank God for keeping this running long enough for me to say I’ve done both things.”
Years after that conversation, Fola has now fulfilled both wishes.
The gesture comes as the singer continues to enjoy a significant rise in his music career. Fola has emerged as one of the Nigerian music industry’s promising new voices, blending Afrobeats and R&B influences in songs that have steadily expanded his audience.
