Sean “Diddy” Combs Found Guilty on Two Counts in Federal Trial

READ MORE:

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been found guilty on two out of five charges in his closely watched federal trial, following 13 hours of jury deliberation. The verdict, delivered on the morning of July 2 in a New York City courtroom, came after a week of intense testimony, including statements from his ex-partner Cassie and a surprise appearance by rapper Kid Cudi.

According to The New York Times, Combs reacted to the verdict by pumping his fist in the air, thanking the jurors as they exited the courtroom.

The jury found Combs guilty on the following counts:

Count 3: Transportation to engage in prostitution regarding Cassie

Count 5: Transportation to engage in prostitution, related to “Jane”

He was acquitted on three other serious charges:

Count 1: Conspiracy to commit racketeering

Count 2: Sex trafficking of Cassie

Count 4: Sex trafficking of “Jane”

Despite the mixed verdict, Combs still faces up to 20 years in federal prison, with each guilty charge carrying a maximum sentence of 10 years. The final sentencing decision now rests with the presiding judge, who noted that he “needs time to consider the law” before determining whether Combs would be allowed to leave the courthouse today.

Speaking outside the courtroom, Combs’s lead attorney, Marc Agnifilo, expressed gratitude to the jury, stating, “Mr. Combs has been given his life by this jury. He would be nothing short of a fool to violate any order given by this court.” Agnifilo emphasized that his client intends to fully comply with the court’s decisions moving forward.

Meanwhile, prosecutors are pushing for continued detention, warning of a “real risk that he will flagrantly disregard orders from this court.” In contrast, Combs’s legal team is seeking immediate release on a proposed $1 million bond, arguing that this is his first conviction and that the guilty verdicts relate to prostitution offenses.

As the court prepares for sentencing, the case continues to draw national attention, not only for its celebrity spotlight but also for its broader implications on the treatment of sex trafficking and organized crime in the entertainment industry.
