Nigeria’s Tamunosoye Karibi-George has ended her Miss World 2026 campaign with a strong Top 12 finish at the international pageant held in Nha Trang, Vietnam.
The Nigerian beauty queen had an impressive run throughout the competition, securing automatic qualification for the quarter-finals after emerging as the Miss World Africa Top Model winner during the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest.
Karibi-George’s Top Model victory earned her a place among the Top 40 contestants. She continued to impress as the competition progressed, advancing to the Top 20 before securing a spot in the final Top 12.
The 26-year-old communications specialist represented Nigeria with her advocacy project, Beyond Labels, which focuses on improving the lives of children living with disabilities.
Through the initiative, Karibi-George promotes access to useful resources, social support and more inclusive environments for children with disabilities across Nigeria. Her advocacy also reflected the central message of Miss World’s Beauty with a Purpose programme.
Although she did not claim the overall crown, Tamunosoye Karibi-George delivered one of Nigeria’s notable performances at the competition and placed the country among the leading contestants in the 2026 edition.
The Miss World crown ultimately went to Joheirry Mola of the Dominican Republic, who succeeded Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri.
Spain’s Elisabeth Reynés finished as first runner-up, while Malaysia’s Taanusiya Chetty took the second runner-up position.
For Nigeria, Tamunosoye Karibi-George’s Top 12 result follows Joy Mojisola Raimi’s Top 20 finish at the previous Miss World edition, giving the country another strong showing on the global pageant stage.
