Nigerian comedian and former BBNaija housemate DeeOne has raised concerns over dancer Poco Lee’s ongoing Poco Lee UK case, warning that his public comments and actions could have consequences while the legal proceedings are still pending.
DeeOne shared his views in a video posted on his X and Instagram accounts on September 15, where he highlighted what he described as three mistakes Poco Lee had made since his arrest in the United Kingdom.
Poco Lee, whose real name is Iweh Pascal Odinaka, is facing five charges in the UK arising from an alleged incident in Tower Hamlets, East London, on July 23, 2026.
The charges include two counts of rape, one count of attempted rape and two counts of assault by penetration. He was granted bail on September 11 after appearing before a UK court.
The next plea hearing has been scheduled for February 8, 2027, while the trial is expected to begin on March 8, 2027.
DeeOne highlights three concerns
According to DeeOne, one of his major concerns was Poco Lee’s decision to grant a public interview while the allegations are before the court.
He questioned why the dancer appeared relaxed during the interview, arguing that prosecutors or others involved in the case could interpret such behaviour in a particular way.
DeeOne also criticised Poco Lee for publicly maintaining his innocence, saying the statement could potentially upset the person who made the allegations against him.
His third concern involved people whom he claimed had assisted Poco Lee with his bail arrangements in the UK.
DeeOne referred to reports that Zlatan Ibile may have helped secure a UK address connected to the bail process, although he acknowledged that the information came from unverified reports.
He noted that Poco Lee had publicly acknowledged Burna Boy’s support but did not mention Zlatan during a video call with social media commentator VeryDarkMan.
The comedian argued that maintaining good relationships with people who may have assisted him could be important while the Poco Lee UK case continues.
However, the claims about Zlatan’s alleged role in the bail arrangements have not been independently established.
DeeOne said he did not wish Poco Lee harm but warned that the dancer should be more careful about what he says publicly before the matter returns to court.
He urged Poco Lee to resolve any strained relationships privately and avoid further public commentary that could complicate matters.
The Poco Lee UK case remains ongoing, and the dancer has not been convicted of any offence. Allegations before the court should therefore not be treated as established facts unless proven through the legal process.
