Super Eagles forward Taiwo Awoniyi has added another academic achievement to his football career after earning a postgraduate qualification from the PFA Business School.
The Coventry City striker graduated with Merit in Global Football Sport Directorship, completing the executive programme delivered by the PFA Business School in partnership with the University of Portsmouth.
The qualification focuses on areas including football administration, leadership, governance and strategic management, giving professional players an opportunity to develop skills beyond their careers on the pitch.
Awoniyi celebrates academic milestone
Sharing photos from his graduation ceremony, Awoniyi expressed his pride in combining professional football with education.
The Nigerian forward said he believes being a footballer should not prevent players from continuing to learn, describing education as an important part of his personal journey.
He also thanked the PFA Business School, lecturers, fellow students, family and friends for their support throughout the programme.
The latest achievement makes the Taiwo Awoniyi third degree milestone in his academic journey.
Before completing the postgraduate diploma, the striker earned a Diploma in Business and Marketing from the London School of International Business and later obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Buckinghamshire New University.
Awoniyi completed the two-year executive programme while continuing to compete at the highest level of professional football.
His growing academic background could also support his plans for life after playing, particularly in football administration, management and sport directorship.
