PayPal has become the latest company to step away from its association with the Wireless Festival following criticism surrounding Kanye West’s role as a headliner. Organisers announced that the payments company will no longer feature in the festival’s branding while the rapper remains part of the lineup, and possibly beyond.

Although PayPal is not a primary sponsor, it serves as a key payments partner for Live Nation UK Festivals and is involved in services such as early ticket access for customers.

Its decision comes shortly after other major brands, including Diageo and Pepsi, also withdrew their support amid mounting backlash. The situation has even drawn political reaction, with UK Labour leader Keir Starmer expressing concern over Kanye West’s involvement, citing the artist’s previous antisemitic comments.

Despite the controversy in the UK, Kanye West continues to see strong financial success in the United States. His recent performances in Los Angeles reportedly generated about $33 million in revenue.

The ongoing debate reflects a divide in public perception across regions and underscores the potential reputational risks companies face when aligning with high-profile but controversial figures.
