The INEC voter register is now available online after the Independent National Electoral Commission responded to concerns from Nigerians and other stakeholders about access to the preliminary list ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The commission announced that voters can now check the register through its online platform, https://display.inecnigeria.org.
INEC said the move complements the physical display of the preliminary register, which took place nationwide from October 9 to 15, 2026. The online option will allow more registered voters to verify their details without visiting registration areas.
Mohammed Kudu Haruna, chairman of INEC’s Information and Voter Education Committee, said the commission had taken note of calls for wider access to the register.
INEC Voter Register Now Available Online
The commission explained that it introduced the online publication to improve accessibility and give Nigerians another opportunity to inspect their voter information.
The earlier physical display followed Section 19 of the Electoral Act, 2026. The exercise allowed registered voters to check their particulars and submit claims or objections where necessary.
INEC said it was processing the claims and objections received during the exercise. The commission will use the outcome to prepare and certify the final register.
INEC Sets December 15 Deadline for Final Register
INEC has scheduled December 15, 2026, for the certification and publication of the final register of voters.
The commission said making the preliminary list available online forms part of its efforts to promote transparency, accessibility and public confidence in the electoral process.
It also urged Nigerians and other stakeholders to remain involved in the process and take advantage of the available opportunity to verify their details.
The commission reaffirmed its commitment to implementing the Electoral Act, 2026, and conducting credible elections in 2027.
Registered voters can inspect the INEC voter register through the commission’s online display portal.
