Who Is Eligible for INEC Recruitment 2027?

INEC has listed several categories of ad hoc staff, each with specific eligibility requirements.

The commission also requires applicants to meet two general conditions:

 • They must not belong to a political party or have demonstrated support for a candidate or political party.
 • They must reside in the state they select, except applicants under the RATECH category.

The official portal lists the following positions and requirements.

1. Supervisory Presiding Officer (SPO)

Eligible applicants include public or civil servants on Grade Level 10–14. Qualified Registration Area Officers and INEC staff within the specified grade levels may also apply, provided they are not engaged in other duties.

2. Registration Area Centre (RAC) Manager

This category is open to heads of schools and staff on Grade Level 07 or above at the school, institution or public building designated to host a Registration Area Centre.

3. Registration Area Technical Support (RATECH)

Applicants must have an information technology background. The category covers suitable INEC ICT staff at state or headquarters level who are not engaged in other duties.

Eligible applicants include:

 • Serving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members.

Important Information for Returning Applicants

Returning applicants must register under the category that applies to their current status. They should review the requirements rather than automatically select their previous category.

Candidates should also ensure that their personal information and referees’ details are accurate. Errors could affect verification.

INEC Recruitment Deadline

The official INECPRES portal currently states that applications for the 2027 general elections will close on November 18, 2026. Applicants should complete their registration before the deadline and avoid waiting until the final day.
