On Tuesday, the House of Representatives directed the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), the country’s telecoms regulator, to block access to all pornographic websites. In response, rapper Blaqbonez took to X, expressing his views on the matter and suggesting that the ban reflected misplaced priorities. He argued that adult films “help” people through difficult times. “This country is funny. Destiny Mira, who helps us through tough times, and they want to ban her,” he wrote.
Blaqbonez’s comment came as a reaction to the House of Representatives’ directive for a nationwide shutdown of pornographic websites.
