by Salami Azeez

Yeni Kuti has shed more light pertaining to the controversial moment her brother, Seun Kuti walked out on the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu at her 60th birthday party on Monday, May 24.

The renowned dancer and singer has defended her younger brother; with Yeni Kuti revealing that her sibling, Seun did not walk out angrily on the governor.

Reacting to the claim via Twitter, Yeni gave an explanation as to why Seun was angry at the party and dismissed insinuations that he was disrespectful to the governor.

Here is what she tweeted;

”What happened was that the security detail in the course of doing their duty pushed his wife.

”He got upset at them understandably so, not the Governor.

”He even explained to the governor.

”I beg o! He has home training. @RealSeunKuti.”

Seun Kuti is known to be a huge critic of the government.

A couple of months ago, he shared his frustration over the government’s plan to shut down the Afrika Shrine because of his support for the #EndSars protest.

Recall Seun Kuti was among the outspoken celebrities at the peak of the #EndSARS protest in the country.

He made his reservations known about the ideology of the protest.

Seun Kuti went on to say that it appears the average Nigerian is fighting for the issue that affects them; which is police brutality because they want to freely drive their Benz without being harassed.

However, he stated that they do not seem to care about the problems that affect poorer Nigerians.

He said that SARS is not our only problem, adding that NURTW boys collect money from market women, okada riders; as well as bus drivers every day and no one is fighting for them.
