Stuttgart's Mittelstädt praises Osimhen ahead of the Galatasaray clash.

Victor Osimhen has received high praise from Stuttgart defender Maximilian Mittelstädt ahead of Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League meeting with the German side.

The left-back described the Nigerian striker as one of the best forwards in world football, warning his teammates about the danger he poses in attack.

Mittelstädt made the comments on Monday, November 2, during Stuttgart’s pre-match press conference ahead of Tuesday’s encounter in Istanbul.

Osimhen has enjoyed an impressive start to the 2026/27 campaign. He has scored 10 goals in 10 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray.

His goals include an important strike against former club Lille in the Champions League, helping the Turkish side secure a 4-2 victory.

Mittelstädt Warns Stuttgart About Osimhen

Speaking about Galatasaray’s attacking options, Mittelstädt acknowledged the quality of Osimhen and the other international stars in the Turkish club’s squad.

He described the Nigerian as a dangerous forward whose performances over recent seasons have established him among the world’s leading strikers.

The Stuttgart defender also recognised Galatasaray’s defensive strength and said his team had prepared carefully for the difficult encounter.

Mittelstädt expects the match to test Stuttgart’s defence, particularly because of the quality Galatasaray possess in attack.

He added that his teammates would need to deliver a strong collective performance and remain focused throughout the game.

Osimhen Closes In on Galatasaray Champions League Record

Osimhen’s performances have also brought him closer to a notable milestone in Galatasaray’s European history.

The Super Eagles striker has scored eight Champions League goals for the Turkish club.

That leaves him two goals behind Burak Yılmaz, who has 10 Champions League goals for Galatasaray. Hakan Şükür remains ahead with 13 goals.

Osimhen could move closer to the record when Galatasaray host Stuttgart on Tuesday, November 3.

Galatasaray Prepare for Stuttgart Test

The Champions League meeting will take place at RAMS Park in Istanbul, where Galatasaray will look to use their home advantage.

Stuttgart, however, arrive with confidence after recording strong results in the competition.

Mittelstädt said his side understood the challenge awaiting them but believed they had the quality to compete against Galatasaray.

With Osimhen leading the Turkish club’s attack, Stuttgart will have to pay close attention to the Nigerian forward if they hope to leave Istanbul with a positive result.
