The founder of Chess In Slums recently shared on X that he turned down a life-changing offer, not because it was inherently wrong, but because it didn’t align with his values or his vision for the future. The 30-year-old shared, “I recently turned down life-changing money. Not because it was exactly wrong, but because it didn’t align with my values or the person I’m becoming.”
He added, “I’m forever grateful to @OgaBoxx for helping me navigate this new chaos with so much grace and wisdom.”
He went on to explain how challenging the decision was, admitting that he struggled and tried to find reasons to accept the offer. Ultimately, however, he recognized that integrity is the true wealth. “I feel liberated by my decision. I can do anything now,” he said.
Renowned Nigerian chess player, Tunde Onakoya, opened up about his reasons for turning down the significant offer, emphasizing that, for him, integrity takes precedence over wealth.
