The All Progressives Congress has said the Tinubu 2027 Campaign will be built around the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration instead of fresh political promises or attacks against opponents.
Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Abdul’aziz Yari, disclosed this on Thursday in Gusau after holding a closed-door meeting with Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal and traditional rulers in the state.
Yari said the ruling party intends to run an issue-driven campaign as it seeks another mandate from Nigerians in the 2027 presidential election.
APC to Campaign on Tinubu’s Record
According to the former Zamfara governor, the Tinubu 2027 Campaign will give priority to projects, reforms and other achievements recorded by the administration since President Tinubu assumed office.
He said Nigeria had endured several difficult periods that had previously raised questions about the country’s continued unity, but Nigerians had repeatedly demonstrated their determination to remain together.
Yari recalled past national challenges, including the June 12 political crisis, noting that the country had survived various predictions that it would eventually break apart.
He maintained that Nigerians have continued to work toward preserving the country as one united nation.
The senator also praised Tinubu’s commitment to national development, describing the president as a leader who is devoted to Nigeria and its citizens.
No Fresh Promises, Yari Says
Yari explained that the APC would not base its election campaign primarily on making another round of promises to voters.
Instead, he said the party would present what the administration has already delivered and outline its plans if Nigerians give Tinubu another opportunity to govern.
He added that the Tinubu 2027 Campaign would avoid personal attacks and concentrate on issues affecting Nigerians.
Yari also explained why his first major engagement since taking charge of the campaign council involved traditional rulers.
According to him, traditional leaders maintain close relationships with communities and continue to exercise significant influence among the people.
He said their support, prayers and blessings would be important to the success of the president’s re-election campaign.

Zamfara Governor Pledges Support
Governor Dauda Lawal, speaking after the meeting, said the gathering was arranged to formally introduce Yari to traditional rulers following his appointment as director-general of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.
Lawal described Yari as a son of Zamfara and said it was necessary for him to meet traditional leaders and seek their support ahead of the election.
The governor also pledged strong backing for President Tinubu, saying the people of Zamfara would give him full support during the 2027 presidential election.
The Tinubu 2027 Campaign is expected to rely heavily on the administration’s record as the APC moves to secure another term for the president.
