The Nigerian Navy has opened its 2026 recruitment exercise for candidates seeking admission into Batch 39 of the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School.
The Nigerian Navy recruitment exercise will begin on October 2 and close on October 31, 2026.
The Navy announced the exercise in recruitment guidelines published on its official X account on Monday.
Nigerian Navy recruitment application
The Navy said the application is completely free and must be completed online by eligible candidates.
Applicants are expected to provide accurate information and submit all required documents during the registration process.
The service also warned candidates against paying money to individuals who claim they can help them secure recruitment slots.
According to the Navy, all stages of the recruitment process are free, and applicants should not make payments to anyone.
Interested candidates should use the official Nigerian Navy recruitment portal to begin their applications.
Basic requirements
Applicants seeking to join the Nigerian Navy recruitment exercise must meet the following conditions:
- Must be single and Nigerian citizens by birth.
- Must possess a National Identification Number (NIN) or NIN slip, as well as a Bank Verification Number (BVN).
- Must be medically, physically and psychologically fit.
- Must have no criminal conviction from a court of law.
- Male applicants must be at least 1.69 metres tall, while female applicants must be at least 1.65 metres.
- Applicants must be between 18 and 22 years old as of December 31, 2026.
Educational qualifications
Candidates must have at least five credits, including Mathematics and English Language, in not more than two sittings.
The accepted examination certificates include WASSCE, GCE, NECO and NABTEB.
Candidates applying for tradesmen or tradeswomen positions must also possess the relevant Trade Test or City & Guild certificate.
The Navy advised applicants to review the detailed requirements on the recruitment portal before submitting their applications.
