Muslim group endorses Tinubu and Sarafadeen Alli ahead of the 2027 elections
The Tijjaniyyah Movement announced its support for Tinubu, Alli and other APC candidates during a meeting in Ibadan.

A Muslim group in Oyo State, Al-Faedat Tijjaniyyah fil-Islam, has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for re-election in 2027 and adopted Senator Sarafadeen Abiodun Alli as its preferred candidate for the state’s governorship election.

The group announced its decision during an emergency meeting in Ibadan on Thursday, October 8, following months of consultations and prayer sessions among its leaders.

The gathering attracted hundreds of members from all 33 local government areas of Oyo State. Participants also held special prayers for Nigeria.

Why the Muslim Group Endorsed Tinubu and Alli

The group’s Oyo State coordinator, Alhaji Abdullateef Yeskuru Adewale, said the endorsement followed consultations among leaders within Nigeria and abroad.

He explained that the movement had received approaches from different politicians and parties seeking its support. However, its leaders decided to consult widely before making a choice.

Adewale said the group had endorsed Tinubu, Alli, Aderemi Oseni and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates contesting national and state legislative seats.

He also claimed that the movement represents more than 200,000 voters in Oyo State and pledged its support for the APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

Alli Welcomes Tijjaniyyah Movement’s Endorsement

Senator Alli thanked the movement for backing his governorship ambition. He praised its members for their political awareness, peaceful conduct and religious tolerance.

Speaking on behalf of Tinubu and other APC candidates, Alli promised fair treatment for citizens and said the party would work to deliver good governance if voters renewed its mandate.

The APC delegation at the meeting was led by Oyo State party chairman, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo.

Other party figures present included deputy governorship candidate Hon. Adesoji Adedeji and Oyo South senatorial candidate Hon. Aderemi Oseni.

Several other APC members and political stakeholders also attended the meeting.

The endorsement adds to the political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, as parties and candidates seek support from groups and voters across the country.
