Former Bauchi State Governor Isa Yuguda has dismissed reports claiming that he has died, assuring Nigerians that he is alive and recovering from a recent health challenge.
Yuguda addressed the rumour after receiving numerous calls and messages from concerned people, particularly residents of Bauchi State, seeking confirmation of his condition.
Yuguda speaks on his health
The former governor said he recently underwent surgery for a back-related condition.
According to him, he has recovered well and is responding positively after the procedure.
“I am alive. I assure you, being human, one can fall ill at any time,” Yuguda said.
He acknowledged that he had been ill recently but said his health had since improved.
“I was indeed ill recently, but God has now restored my health,” he added.
Ex-governor explains why he stays home
Yuguda said he currently spends most of his time at home following medical advice to rest after the surgery.
He explained that his doctors advised him to limit his activities while he recovers.
The former governor also spoke about the possible complications associated with back problems, particularly as people grow older.
He said prolonged sitting can affect the vertebrae and, in serious cases, could result in severe complications.

Despite the false report about his death, Yuguda said he remains in good spirits and expressed gratitude to God for his recovery.
He also thanked those who reached out to check on him after hearing the report.
