Gunmen invade Osun community, abduct resident

Some gunmen have attacked Ora-Igbomina, a community in Ifedayo Local Government area of Osun State and abducted a female resident.

There was tension in the community that shares boundaries with Ekiti and Kwara States, on Sunday evening when the gun wielding men arrived, The POINT gathered.

The victim is said to be the daughter of one Alhaji Bayo Fulani of the affected community.

It was gathered that the gunmen stormed the residence of Bayo Fulani and whisked away his daughter to an unknown destination.

Speaking with our correspondent on the telephone on Monday, the father of the victim explained that the gunmen came in their numbers and attempted to kill him.

He said: “They shot at me severally as they were unable to overpower me, they descended on my daughter and she was taken away.

“They came with one Ak-47 and two pumps action,” he disclosed.

Confirming the abduction on Monday, Osun Police Command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola said police had been deployed to the scene of the incident.

“Our men are already in the bush combing the area,” she said.
