Nigeria recorded one win and one draw in their latest fixtures.

Nigeria’s Future Eagles recorded mixed results at the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival, beating Cyprus 2-1 before playing out a 1-1 draw against Pakistan on Monday.

The Nigerian youngsters showed fighting spirit in their opening fixture, recovering from an early setback to secure victory. However, they could not repeat that winning performance against Pakistan in their final group match.

The two results gave Nigeria a win and a draw as the young players continued their development against international opposition.

Future Eagles Complete Comeback Against Cyprus

The Future Eagles fell behind in the 12th minute when Georgios Christodoulou scored for Cyprus.

Nigeria responded quickly, with Wisdom Oche finding the net five minutes later to level the score at 1-1.

The comeback continued in the 26th minute when substitute Timothy Ijach scored Nigeria’s second goal. His strike put the Future Eagles ahead and proved decisive as they held on for a 2-1 victory.

The win rewarded Nigeria’s persistence after conceding early. Oche and Ijach played key roles in turning the match around and giving the team a positive start to the competition.

Nigeria Held to 1-1 Draw by Pakistan

The Future Eagles could not maintain their winning momentum against Pakistan, settling for a 1-1 draw in their final group fixture.

Nigeria created opportunities but failed to convert enough of them to secure another victory. Pakistan proved a difficult opponent, and both sides finished the contest with a share of the points.

The result prevented Nigeria from recording consecutive wins after their comeback against Cyprus.

Future Eagles Look to Build on Tournament Experience

The victory and draw provided Nigeria’s young players with valuable competitive experience against opponents from different countries.

The FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival gives emerging footballers an opportunity to develop their skills, test themselves internationally and gain experience at youth level.

The Future Eagles will aim to build on the positives from their win over Cyprus while improving their finishing after the draw against Pakistan.

Their performances also offer the coaching team areas to assess as the young Nigerians continue their development in international football.
