Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has officially withdrawn from the highly anticipated concert scheduled for July 3, 2025, at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. The show, which was to feature American music icons 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige, will now proceed without his participation.

In a statement shared via his Instagram story on Saturday, Davido explained that his decision was prompted by unresolved issues with the event organizers, Iconic Presents. He cited the group’s failure to address “key elements required to uphold the integrity and quality” of his performance as the primary reason for pulling out.

Beyond logistics, the multi-award-winning artist also alluded to deeper concerns, hinting at discriminatory practices and calling for greater respect for African creatives in global entertainment spaces.

Although stepping away from the concert, Davido assured his fans in London that he remains committed to delivering a world-class experience. He announced plans to return this summer as part of the European leg of his 5Alive tour.
