Billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote has accepted an invitation from Nigerian content creator Bae U Barbie to appear on his YouTube show, Curiosity Made Me Ask.

Dangote agreed to the invitation after Bae U, whose real name is Adebayo Ridwan, urged him to connect with younger Nigerians through platforms they regularly watch.

During their exchange, Bae U explained that many of Dangote’s previous interviews had appeared on platforms that might not attract younger audiences. He argued that young Nigerians were interested in the billionaire’s business journey and wanted to learn more about his company.

The content creator also pointed to the interest among young people in investing in Dangote’s business, including through the company’s planned public offering.

“I’m not saying you should sack your media team,” Bae U clarified before asking when the billionaire would appear on his show.

Why Dangote Accepted Bae U’s Invitation

Responding to the request, Dangote said young Nigerians represented the future and deserved opportunities to learn from the experiences of older generations.

He admitted that his generation had not done enough for Nigeria and Africa, stressing the need for meaningful conversations with younger people.

“Honestly, the future that we have is actually you, the youth,” Dangote said, adding that older Nigerians needed to share their experiences with the next generation.

The businessman also noted that some young people had limited knowledge of Nigeria’s past leaders and political history.

He mentioned former President Olusegun Obasanjo as an example, prompting Bae U to point out that he had interviewed the former president on his own platform.

“Thanks to me. I gave him the platform, sir,” the content creator interjected.

Dangote acknowledged Bae U’s point and agreed that reaching younger audiences should become a priority.

He said young Nigerians had continued to show him support and respect, including during his trips abroad.

Dangote Opens Up About His Relationship With Young Nigerians

The billionaire also shared why he often agrees to take photographs with members of the public.

According to Dangote, people around him sometimes try to stop others from approaching him for pictures. However, he prefers to oblige them.

He recalled how he and his grandfather once met prominent personalities in Washington and asked to take photographs with them when he was younger.

Dangote said the experience influenced his attitude towards people who approach him today.

He also clarified the meaning behind a photograph that attracted attention on social media. He explained that he was expressing gratitude to God for his blessings rather than asking for more.

Dangote Promises to Appear on ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’

Confirming his willingness to join the show, Dangote responded to Bae U’s invitation with a clear promise.

“We will come,” he said.

The businessman indicated that the planned conversation would give young Nigerians an opportunity to ask questions about his journey, business decisions and success.

His acceptance of the Bae U invitation to Dangote could provide the content creator’s audience with a chance to hear directly from one of Africa’s most prominent business figures.

However, the exchange did not establish a specific recording date or release schedule for the episode.
