by Salami Azeez

Bandits on Tuesday have released a video of a pregnant student abducted from the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna State.

She was abducted alongside 38 other students in March. In the video, the pregnant lady, the bandits identified as Hajiya pleaded and begged their parents to rescue them by all means

“We are appealing to our parents to help us, we are tired and there is no food. They should do their best to get us out of this place. We have spent 47 days, almost all of us are ill and there is no food. We sleep in the open even when it rains,” she said.

Recall that the bandits had stormed the Federal College of Forestry Mechanization in Afaka in the Igabi area of Kaduna state, abducting a mix of boys and girls.

The bandits reportedly released 10 of the abducted students, leaving 29 of them in captivity.

The state governor, Nasir el-Rufai vowed that the government will not pay any ransom to attackers targeting educational institutions.

The governor said officials evaluated the situation and did not see any reason why the government will pay money to bandits.
