A Lagos State governorship hopeful under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Olajide Adediran, has refuted claims that party leaders have already settled for a preferred candidate ahead of the 2027 election.

Speaking through his spokesperson, Gbenga Ogunleye, Adediran emphasized that the party has not endorsed any aspirant and remains committed to a transparent primary process scheduled for next month.

According to the statement, the position aligns with that of the Lagos APC leadership, which has maintained that all aspirants will be given a fair chance to contest. Adediran reaffirmed his loyalty to party principles, stressing his readiness to participate fully in the primary while continuing to build grassroots support.

He also noted that although he is prepared to contest, he would respect any eventual decision by party leaders, including the adoption of a consensus candidate if that becomes necessary.

Adediran cautioned party members against confusing individual campaigns or political lobbying with the official stance of the party or its leadership. He maintained that the final decision rests with the APC hierarchy and urged members to remain disciplined and united pending that outcome.
