Former U.S. President Donald Trump has announced plans to host a UFC fight on the grounds of the White House as part of celebrations to mark America’s 250th anniversary next year.
Speaking at an “America 250” kickoff event held Thursday at the Iowa State Fairgrounds—just a day before the Fourth of July—Trump outlined a series of activities being planned to commemorate the historic milestone. “Every one of our national park battlefields and historic sites are going to have special events in honor of America 250,” he said. “We’re going to have a UFC fight – think of this – on the grounds of the White House.”
The proposed UFC match is just one of many festivities planned for the occasion, which Trump said would include both professional and amateur sporting events across the country.
According to a CNN report, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that discussions are underway regarding the possibility of hosting the event, but added that no further details are available at this time.
Trump has a longstanding relationship with the UFC and its CEO Dana White. White has been a vocal supporter of Trump and served as a key surrogate during his 2024 campaign. He also introduced Trump at the Republican National Convention last July.
