Tinubu returns to Abuja after spending six days in Lagos, where he attended several national, political and cultural engagements.

President Bola Tinubu arrived in Lagos on Tuesday, September 29, after completing his annual vacation in London and Paris. He spent the next six days in the former seat of government before leaving for Abuja.

The President’s Lagos visit included major events linked to Nigeria’s 66th Independence Day celebration. He also attended the national premiere of a documentary on the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola.

Tinubu returns to Abuja after Lagos engagements

The Presidency said Tinubu departed Lagos for Abuja on Monday evening after completing his scheduled activities in the state.

On October 1, the President addressed Nigerians as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Day anniversary.

In his address, Tinubu spoke on the country’s progress and the challenges facing Nigerians. The Independence Day broadcast formed part of his major engagements during the Lagos visit.

Later that same day, the President attended the national premiere of MKO, a documentary about the life and political struggle of the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola.

Tinubu attends MKO documentary premiere

The documentary chronicles Abiola’s political journey and his role in Nigeria’s pro-democracy struggle.

It also highlights the historic June 12, 1993 presidential election and the events that followed its annulment.

Tinubu attended the premiere alongside his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu. Several prominent Nigerians also attended the event at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts.

The premiere provided one of the major highlights of the President’s Lagos stay.

Tinubu visits Oba of Lagos

Before leaving Lagos, Tinubu also paid a visit to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Babatunde Akiolu.

The President visited the monarch at his Iga Iduganran Palace on Lagos Island on Sunday.

The meeting formed part of Tinubu’s engagements with traditional and community leaders during his stay in Lagos.

After completing his activities, Tinubu returns to Abuja to continue his official duties from the nation’s capital.

The six-day visit also marked the President’s return to Nigeria after his annual vacation in London and Paris.
