by Salami Azeez

A Former Minister of Aviation, Senator Stella Oduah-Ogiemwonyi, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.

The Chairman of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) Governor Mai Mala Buni received her in a brief ceremony in Abuja on Thursday.

A statement by the APC Director of Publicity Salisu Na’inna Dambatta in Abuja on Thursday evening said the party Chairman assured the former Minister that despite being a new member, the party will accord her all the rights and privileges of all bona fide members of the party.

“You (Oduah) will enjoy the privileges enjoyed by all members of the party because you will have a waiver,” Buni assured.

Oduah, who is representing Anambra North, said her joining the ruling party was part of the process of changing the political narrative in the South East.

She told the party leadership she joined the APC along with her multitude of supporters who have been jubilating in Anambra State.

The new entrant was received along with the Chairman by the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) Abubakar Bagudu; Imo Governor Hope Uzodinma and Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege.

Also in attendance was the APC governorship candidate in the November 6, 2021 Senator Andy Uba.

Atiku, while welcoming Oduah into the party, said she is a national figure who has joined “a national movement to deliver a greater Nigeria for the future.”
