by Salami Azeez

The Counsel for the Department of State Service, Idowu Awo, told the Federal High Court, on Wednesday 8th September 2021, that the case file relating to the Fundamental Human Rights Enforcement application filed by the aides to Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, was stolen by armed robbers.

Punch reports that he told Justice Obiora Egwuatu that his colleague who was to bring the case file to court had boarded a vehicle belonging to armed robbers commonly known as ‘one chance.’

He narrated that his belongings including the case file were hijacked by the armed robbers.

He proceeded to ask for an adjournment.

In the same vein, the Department of State Services (DSS) on Wednesday, 8th of September, filed fresh terrorism charges against two aides of Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo alias Sunday Igboho.

In suit no FHC/ABJ/CR/305/2021, which was dated August 31, 2021, the DSS through its lawyer S.M. Bello, filed five-count terrorism charges against Oyetunji and Amudat (female).

The DSS alleged that Oyetunji was in possession of firearms for terrorism-related activities while Babatunde promoted terroristic acts through her Facebook account.

The counsel of the detainees, Pelumi Olajengbesi, said, “The charges are baseless, vexatious, shameful and without limbs.”

The detainees had approached the court to seek their fundamental right to freedom.
