Speaking during a recent interview on The Esther Show, Nigerian singer Reekado Banks revealed that he is no longer sure about getting married this year as he previously intended. The artist, known for his soulful sound and hit songs like Easy (Jeje), said his mindset has shifted in the past two months.

“In my last interview, which was two months ago, I was pretty sure about my stance. I said I would get married later in the year, but now I’m in a very different place,” he said. “So, I can’t say anything definite about getting married now. Back then, I was sure, but now I’m not.”

The former Mavin Records signee clarified that the decision has nothing to do with his music career. Instead, it stems from his ongoing journey of self-awareness and emotional growth. “It has nothing to do with my music career. It’s about me and my emotional intelligence, which I’m still working on,” he explained.

Despite his uncertainty, Banks noted that he still believes in marriage, attributing this belief to his upbringing. “I’m not closing the door on marriage. It’s something I’ve always believed in, especially because of how I was raised,” he said.

Known offstage as Ayoleyi Solomon, Reekado Banks first rose to fame in 2014 after signing with Mavin Records. He went independent in 2018 and has since continued building a successful music career on his own terms.
