Residents and businesses across parts of Lekki, Ajah and Ibeju-Lekki in Lagos State are experiencing a power outage following a loss of electricity supply affecting 12 feeders on the network of Eko Electricity Distribution Plc (EKEDP).
The affected feeders are Ibeju, Ajah Local 1, Medallion Data, Urban Prime, Main One, Maroko, Chevron, Oke-Ira, Ikate Express, Ilasan, NTDA 1 and Eleko.
EKEDP disclosed this in an update to customers, noting that the disruption had also affected the VGC, Oke-Ira and Agungi Injection Substations.
According to the electricity distribution company, it is working with the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to restore the affected transformer and reconnect the feeders currently without supply.
12 feeders affected
EKEDP said the power disruption was caused by a fault affecting electricity supply across the Lekki, Ajah and Ibeju-Lekki axis.
The company listed the affected feeders as:
- Ibeju
- Ajah Local 1
- Medallion Data
- Urban Prime
- Main One
- Maroko
- Chevron
- Oke-Ira
- Ikate Express
- Ilasan
- NTDA 1
- Eleko
The VGC, Oke-Ira and Agungi Injection Substations were also affected by the loss of supply.
EKEDP said it was working closely with TCN to restore the affected transformer and reconnect all impacted feeders as quickly as possible.
The company apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused by the outage and said further updates would be provided as restoration efforts progress.
It also urged affected customers to remain patient while work continues to restore electricity supply.
Lekki axis faces recurring outages
The latest disruption comes amid recurring electricity supply challenges reported across parts of the Lekki axis in recent times.
Residents in areas including Ibeju-Lekki have previously experienced disruptions linked to reduced power supply and faults affecting infrastructure outside EKEDP’s immediate distribution network.
In a previous incident, EKEDP attributed a power disruption affecting parts of Lagos to a technical fault on key transmission lines outside its distribution network.
The company said the fault significantly reduced the amount of electricity available for distribution across its franchise area.
At the time, EKEDP said it was working to manage the limited supply and distribute the available electricity as fairly as possible among customers.
Previous national grid disruption
In June 2026, EKEDP also announced a loss of power supply from the national grid that affected electricity distribution across its network.
The company described that incident as a transmission-level issue outside its direct control and said it was investigating the cause while engaging relevant authorities.
EKEDP said it would communicate the restoration timeline as more information became available.
The latest incident again highlights how disruptions at the transmission level can affect electricity supply across communities served by distribution companies.
