The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved Police promotions for more than 4,000 senior officers and appointed two new Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs).
The approvals cover officers across several ranks, including Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs), Commissioners of Police (CPs) and other senior personnel.
The PSC’s Head of Protocol and Public Relations, Torty Kalu, announced the development in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday.
According to Kalu, the commission approved the promotions during its plenary meeting chaired by its chairman, Hashimu Argungu.
The exercise covers 10 AIGs, 17 CPs, 85 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), 49 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs), 245 Superintendents of Police (SPs) and 498 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs).
