Ondo Poly lecturers protest over 8 months salary

Lecturers of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo (RUGIPO) in Ondo state have blocked all the roads leading to the campus to protest the payment of their accumulated salaries and arrears.

The lecturers had yesterday began to mobilize staffs of the state own institution to ground all the academic and business activities to press home their demands.

The lecturers, who are asking for the offset of their eight months old salary are also demanding for their promotion which has been overdue.

Many of them also alleged both the management and the governing council of the school of high handedness.

One of the protesting lecturers of the polytechnic, Mr. Bisi Ibikunle told our correspondent that many staff of the institution could not pay their domestic bills due to the refusal to pay their salary.

He called on Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to intervene in the poor management of the polytechnic by the school management.
