The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has congratulated ex-governor of the state and former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun on his 82nd birthday, hailing his commitment to Nigeria’s unity and development.
In a statement, the governor extolled the virtues of the elder statesman, describing him as an “erudite politician, true democrat and administrator par excellence, whose exemplary leadership has positively impacted the nation’s political space.”
Obaseki noted, “On behalf of the government and good people of Edo State, I congratulate you, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, as you mark your 82nd birthday anniversary.
“You have continued to lead an enviable life that is worthy of emulation, distinguishing yourself as a role model, true democrat and administrator par excellence.
“From your early days in the federal public service, where you rose to the peak of your career as a permanent secretary, up to when you got elected as the governor of Edo State, you have carried on with your vision of engendering sustainable development.
“I applaud your unalloyed dedication and commitment to the Nigerian project and pray that the Almighty God will grant you more years in good health and happiness.”
