NSF: Be good ambassadors, LSSC urges athletes

by Salami Azeez

As the Lagos State contingent leaves for the National Sports Festival (NSF) in Benin, Edo, the Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), Oluwatoyin Gafar, urged them to be good ambassadors.

The Nigeria News Agency (NAN) reports that the NSF, which has suffered numerous postponements due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is now scheduled to be held from April 2 to 14.

However, the last group of athletes from Lagos State left on Sunday to join their counterparts for the biennial sports festival.

Gafar in a statement Sunday by public relations director Titi Oshodi urged good-humored athletes and officials to be good ambassadors for the state during the competition.

“We want you to be honest and to be good representatives of our dear state.

“Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu made it easier for us to prepare for the festival by providing a favorable environment.

“I want to charge you to go out there and do your best for the glory of Lagos State,”

“The Lagos team participates in 30 sports at the Sports Festival.

“The contingent includes 297 athletes and 185 officials, coaches, secretaries and other accompanying officials,” said Oshodi. (NOPE)
