The Joint Security Task Force, Lagos Mainland Local Command, has appealed to the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for financial and moral support to keep its operations going.
The Chairman of the security outfit, Ishola Agbodemu, disclosed this in a letter addressed to the state governor, Chief of Staff to the state governor, Tayo Ayinde; the Oloto of Otto, Muhammad Basiru; the Executive Chairman, Lagos Mainland Local Government, Rasheedat Essien; and the Chairman of Yaba Local Council Development Area, Kayode Omiyale; on Sunday.
Agbodemu stated that there were suspicions of attacks from hoodlums in the area, adding that the financial aid would be an incentive to members of the security outfit.
He said, “The Joint Security Task Force, Lagos Mainland Local Government Command is a coalition of community-based security organisations, set up with the purpose of protecting lives and property of residents of Lagos Mainland Local Government.
“As the yuletide season concludes and election approaches with suspicion of attacks by hoodlums, we have decided to be active and on ground, across the Local Government, to avoid any form of attack or violent activity in any location.
“As such, we’re writing to appeal to and solicit your financial and moral support to keep our operations afloat and to incentivise members who would be working tirelessly to keep Lagos Mainlanders safe during this festive period.
“We are assured that your commitment to the safety of all and sundry in the state would enable us to secure your kind support.”
