The President of the Kano Civil Society Forum (KCSF), Mohammed Bello, has paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Director of the Abdulsalami Abubakar Institute for Peace and Sustainable Development Studies (AAIPSDS), Dr. Diamond Preye Ogidi, at the Institute’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State.

In a press statement signed and released by Salisu Gambo Ditol, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of KCSF, today in Kano State, the visit, was aimed at fostering collaboration on peacebuilding and sustainable development.

According to the statement, the meeting provided an opportunity for both organizations to explore ways of enhancing their visibility and forging strategic partnerships to address critical societal issues.

“Discussions centered on addressing the challenges posed by the Almajiri system, enhancing peaceful coexistence, and leveraging local and international networks to tackle social challenges and build community resilience,” Ditol stated.

During the meeting, Mr. Bello underscored the urgent need for innovative and collaborative approaches to resolve societal problems hindering Nigeria’s development. He emphasized the importance of joint efforts in promoting inclusive growth, particularly in communities grappling with unemployment, insecurity, and social inequality.

In her remarks, Dr. Ogidi reaffirmed the Abdulsalami Abubakar Institute’s commitment to supporting initiatives that advance peace and development. She highlighted the synergy between the missions of both organizations, stating, “Our mission aligns with yours in promoting sustainable development through partnerships and knowledge-sharing.”

The leaders of both institutions agreed to develop joint programs and strategies to address issues affecting societal cohesion and growth.
