Nollywood star Funke Akindele has shared her thoughts on the growing popularity of Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedures, admitting she admires the results but remains hesitant about undergoing the surgery herself.
During a recent appearance on The Morayo Show, hosted by Morayo Afolabi-Brown, the actress revealed that she appreciates the look of well-proportioned body enhancements. According to her, she finds it appealing when the results are subtle and not excessive.
“I like seeing beautiful women with nicely shaped bodies,” she said, adding that while she is drawn to the aesthetic, she does not feel bold enough to go through with the procedure.
Despite her admiration, Akindele urged caution, stressing that anyone considering a BBL should carefully evaluate the potential health risks. She emphasized that while she does not oppose cosmetic enhancement, safety should always come first.
Her remarks come at a time when BBL procedures continue to gain traction, particularly among entertainers and social media influencers.
The conversation has also been fueled by recent tragic incidents, including the death of Nigerian influencer Elena Jessica Nkwopara, who reportedly suffered complications after undergoing a second, corrective BBL surgery in Lagos. Reports indicate she experienced severe complications during or shortly after the procedure.
Akindele’s perspective reflects a growing awareness of both the appeal and the dangers associated with cosmetic surgery, highlighting the need for informed decisions.
