Gov. Wike’s naira rain on Burna Boy, others

The Grammy award winning artiste, Damini Ogulu (Burna Boy) has gotten a mouth watering welcome party from the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike as the fun loving governor gifted him N10m alongside others.

Gov. Wike at the grand reception commended the artiste for doing the country proud by winning the world’s most coveted prize for artistes this year.

Other musicians who performed at a party organised by the governor also benefited from the governor’s largesse in Port Harcourt.

Burna Boy aside the money also got a plot of land.

Burna Boy an indigene of Rivers descent, lived most of his life in Lagos.

Wike in his address said “Those of you who have come to play, whatever you have agreed with the ministry of culture and tourism is not my business.

“All of you that have come today and the Niger Delta people that have come to play today to show the talent you have, I’m very proud of you. All of you will go home with N10million each,” he said.

E247 reports that Burna Boy at 63rd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony was a recipient of an award as the Best Global Music Album’ with his 2020 project ‘Twice as Tall’,
