Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Solade has revealed that he was once paid to portray a fake disability during a staged healing service at a church while he was still a student.
Solade made the disclosure during an interview with Feel Right News TV, where he recalled taking part in the alleged fake miracle before he became a recognised figure in Nollywood.
The actor said he was recruited to act as a cripple during the service and was paid for his participation.
“I have been used for miracle then, when I was not popular. I acted as a cripple, they paid, I used the money to drink, then I was a student,” he said.
According to Solade, the incident happened at a time when he had not yet established himself in the Nigerian movie industry.

Solade explained that he was approached to participate in the act but declined to identify the people involved.
The actor’s account provides an insight into an experience he said occurred during his student years, long before he became a popular Nollywood actor.
He said the money he received after participating in the fake disability performance was spent on alcohol.
Solade’s revelation centres on his alleged involvement in a staged healing service, where he pretended to have a physical disability as part of the supposed miracle.
The actor did not provide further details about the church or the individuals who allegedly arranged the performance.
His disclosure has drawn attention to his early years before he established himself as a veteran in Nigeria’s film industry.
