Former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State and PDP candidate in the 2018 governoship election, Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka has met with Forum of Past Chairmen in the People’s Democratic Party, PDP to express his intention to contest the 2022 governoship election, assuring them of excellent performance and inclusive governance if given opportunity to flag the party’s ticket in the 2022 governoship election.

Addressing the Forum of Past Chairmen of PDP in Ado Ekiti, Eleka said their sacrifices to the party had sustained it beyond expectation in the state.
In his words; “There is no doubt in the fact that you have sacrificed alot to keep PDP this far with your commitment and unwavering loyalty, even when others left the party for selfish interest. I want to specially appreciate you for keeping the party together”.
Eleka who mentioned some party chairmen he worked with while serving as deputy governor, said he had cordial relationship with them.
Assuring the Forum of Past Chairmen of excellent performance, Eleka said having served in different leadership capacities with verified achievements, serving Ekiti people and the PDP will be another avenue to discharge his expertise and experience, lamenting on the poor dividends of democracy in the state.
“Ekiti state made tremendous achievements in education sector under my supervision as deputy governor. The records are there to verify”.
Unfortunately, our legacy in education sector has been abandoned by the APC government, hence the results are not only poor but embarrassing for a fountain of knowledge.
“I humbly bring myself before you today to declare my intention to contest the 2022 governoship election in Ekiti state. I want to assure you all of excellent performance for the state and a PDP where leaders will be treated with respect. A PDP where members will be part of policy making, decision making and a participatory leadership style”
“My personality is a proof that it wouldn’t be business as usual”.
This forum is indispensable given its scope and importance to the party in Ekiti State, hence your prayers and support are inevitable, Eleka concluded
The forum appreciated Eleka for consulting them and for his humility, urging him to continue with his encompassing consultation.
In the meeting were all former PDP Chairmen and other stakeholders.
