Cubana Chief Priest has criticised Umahi’s performance as Works Minister.

Socialite and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has called on President Bola Tinubu to remove Works Minister David Umahi, accusing him and another South-East minister of failing to deliver meaningful benefits to the region.

Cubana Chief Priest made the demand in a post on Instagram, where he criticised the performance of South-East indigenes serving in key positions in the Federal Government.

The socialite is known for his political ties to Seyi Tinubu, the president’s son, and his involvement in the City Boy Movement, which campaigns for Tinubu’s re-election.

Cubana Chief Priest Criticises Umahi’s Performance

In his post, Chief Priest described Umahi as the second-worst minister the South-East had produced. He argued that the region had little to show for having one of its indigenes lead the Federal Ministry of Works.

He also criticised an unnamed female minister from Imo State, whom he labelled the worst minister the region had produced.

According to the socialite, the ministers have failed to create visible opportunities for the Igbo people despite their positions in the Federal Government.

He urged Tinubu to replace the officials, arguing that their appointments had not translated into meaningful benefits for the South-East.

‘We Have Nothing to Show for It’

Chief Priest questioned the political value of the ministers to the president, claiming that one of them might struggle to secure even 1,000 votes for Tinubu in their home state.

In the post, he also alleged that residents in his state were unaware that the South-East had previously produced ministers of finance and trade and investment because, in his view, their appointments had created few opportunities for the region.

He wrote:

“Always blabbing, The second to worst minister southeast ever had. We have nothing to show for it as a region that had minister of works. the worst minister na my sister from imo state that one na fluke of a minister. Asiwaju you gats change these failures of ministers for us, the one from my state can’t even get 1k votes for Asiwaju.

“Nobody for our state even know say we once had minister of finance, minister of trade & investment but Igbos no even see any opportunity, Minister Wey Dey beg to call meeting for am that one fit get vote. No Impact no level na boys just use mama cash out.”

Chief Priest Questions Benefits of South-East Ministerial Appointments

The socialite’s comments focused on what he described as the lack of tangible results from the appointment of South-East politicians to influential federal positions.

He argued that ministerial appointments should create opportunities for people from the region and produce visible benefits beyond the political offices themselves.
