China has reiterated its commitment to supporting Iran during its current crisis while urging both the United States and Israel to halt military operations immediately.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized the enduring “traditional friendship” between China and Iran during a phone call with Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi. According to Chinese officials, Wang expressed strong support for Iran in maintaining its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.
In a broader call for de-escalation, China urged both the U.S. and Israel to stop their military actions to avoid further escalation of the conflict and prevent it from spreading across the Middle East.
Meanwhile, in other news, the U.S. Navy reported that the USS Truxtus and the USNS Supply collided during a replenishment operation in the Caribbean Sea.
