APC ADC unpaid salaries controversy
The APC campaign council has accused the ADC of failing to pay its workers.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council has accused the African Democratic Congress (ADC) of failing to pay its workers for more than 12 months.

In a statement dated October 26, 2026, the council alleged that the ADC National Working Committee, led by Senator David Mark as chairman and Rauf Aregbesola as secretary, had neglected its staff despite their continued work.

The statement, signed by APC Presidential Campaign Council spokesperson Dele Alake, criticised the party for allegedly leaving its employees without salaries for over a year.

The council questioned how the ADC could make promises to Nigerians while allegedly failing to meet its financial obligations to its own workforce.

APC Accuses ADC of Unpaid Staff Salaries

The APC campaign council described the alleged non-payment of salaries as unacceptable. It argued that party workers depend on their earnings to meet their daily needs.

It also used the allegation to question the ADC’s ability to manage public affairs, claiming that a party unable to pay its workforce should not be trusted with the country’s administration.

The council extended its criticism to the ADC’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, accusing him of having a history of delayed salary payments in his businesses.

It claimed that workers at Gotel Communication and other businesses linked to the former vice-president had previously gone for months without salaries and staged protests over unpaid wages and benefits.

However, the statement did not provide further details or supporting documents for these allegations.

APC Recalls Aregbesola’s Salary Record in Osun

The campaign council also criticised Aregbesola’s record as governor of Osun State, a position he held for eight years.

It alleged that his administration struggled to pay civil servants and introduced quarter-salary and half-salary arrangements during his tenure.

The APC further accused the former governor of neglecting pensioners for more than four years, claiming that some died after struggling to meet their basic needs.

The council argued that the alleged salary problems under Aregbesola’s administration raised questions about his role in the ADC’s leadership.

It described the situation as similar to the party’s alleged failure to pay its own employees.

APC Calls on Nigerians to Reject ADC Candidates

The APC Presidential Campaign Council urged Nigerians and workers to reject the ADC, Atiku Abubakar and other candidates of the party in the next general elections.

It accused the opposition party’s leaders of pursuing personal political interests rather than prioritising the welfare of Nigerians.

The council also claimed that the ADC’s criticism of President Bola Tinubu was driven by a desire to regain political power.

Alake maintained that a political party seeking to govern Nigeria must demonstrate responsible management of its internal affairs and the welfare of its employees.

The statement ended with a call on voters to consider the party’s alleged treatment of its workers when assessing its claims and political promises.

The allegations against the ADC, Atiku Abubakar and Aregbesola were contained in the APC campaign council’s statement dated October 26, 2026.
