Ahead of the 2027 general election, former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has revealed his intention to contest for Kogi Central Senatorial seat. Which is currently Natasha Akpoti Senatorial seat.
Currently Senator Natasha Akpoti is representing the Kogi Central at the National Assembly, same seat Yahaya Bello has declared his intention to contest for.
Bello revealed his intention during a courtesy visit to the palace of the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland. During the visit he met with traditional and religious leaders from Kogi Central District. It seems he is already buying their support.
Yahaya Bello served as Governor of Kogi State from 2016 to 2024 under the flagship of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The incumbent Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti is a close ally of Yahaya Bello. His intention to contest may lead to a downside relationship between the duo. Let’s see how things turn out.
