Victony Opens Up About Performing Sober for the First Time on European Tour

RAED MORE:

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Anthony Ebuka Victor, popularly known as Victony, has revealed a major lifestyle change as he embarks on his ongoing European “Stubborn Tour.” For the first time in his career, the 23-year-old artist says he is attempting to perform completely sober.

In a recent appearance on Behind the Prestige, the “Soweto” crooner admitted that he has always relied on alcohol to enhance his stage performance, a habit he is now determined to break.

> “Keeping fit is a new habit for me. I’ve been on it for almost two months now, and it’s been good, I won’t lie. Yes, it’s a bit boring, but I haven’t smoked weed in a while. I’m also trying to stay off alcohol. I’m trying to do this tour sober, and it’s a big challenge,” Victony shared.

The artist also disclosed that he’s taken a break from smoking weed and is actively focusing on both his physical and mental well-being. According to him, embracing a healthier lifestyle is not only a personal goal but also part of a broader effort to improve his performance and overall quality of life.

Victony, known for his breakout hit “Soweto”, has been widely recognized for his unique sound and resilience, especially following a life-altering car accident in 2021. His ongoing tour marks a new chapter — not just professionally, but personally — as he works towards sobriety and self-improvement.
