Tope Alabi releases new movie, album
Ace gospel minister, Tope Alabi, has stated that her new movie, The Weight, is a product of an intense work shot in 2019 and 2020 and produced to bless the lives of people who are trusting in God.
Alabi, who informed that she played the lead role in the movie, stated in an interview that the movie was planned for about three months after she “got the story in a phrase and developed it.”
The gospel minister said, “I have been an actor for over 21 years. Since I have been acting, I love acting so much. But when God called me to minister in songs, I know that God invested so much in me, it is not only songs. It is not only songs that I have from the Holy Spirit. I know that I also have the talent of writing stories. This movie, the weight, came from the place of fellowship and that was how I got the story.
“I got the story in a phrase and I developed it. The inspiration of the story is the Holy Spirit. I played the lead role. I know some will be amazed seeing me act. But I also know that so many people know that I came from that side before God called me into singing ministry. I am happy that I could do what I have been doing before now in the line of gospel.
“My aim and objectives to do this movie are for people to get to know God and how weighty the love of God is for us. It means, no matter how much we have sinned or turned back, we can easily come back to God because his love is always ready to accept us back. Stop living in your sin and come back to God.
“What is behind the title is that your sin might be so weighty and you think God might not accept you again but it is just to let you know that God’s love is weightier than your sin.
“The plan of the production and efforts that went into this movie was a lot and we planned for like about three months and we started shooting the movie in 2019. And then we finished up in 2020. So it was intense. But we thank God that we achieved what God wants us to achieve.”
Also speaking on her latest music album, Igbowo Eda, Tope Alabi noted that the music was a production to point the listeners to Jesus.
“Igbowo Eda is the latest release and God’s time is the best. I love this music so much. People should look forward to seeing Jesus, to seeing light, to seeing the love of God, for Jesus. And when you see Jesus, your life will turn around,” she added.
