E247mag reports: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has stunned the broadcasting industry by reversing fresh appointments at the Nigerian Television Authority and recalling the agency’s Director-General, Salihu Abdullahi Dembos, along with the Executive Director of News, Ayo Adewuyi.

The dramatic U-turn was announced on Tuesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who confirmed that both men have been asked to resume their positions to serve out their full tenures.

Dembos was appointed in October 2023 for a three-year term expected to end in 2026, while Adewuyi took office in 2024 with a mandate running until 2027. The sudden reversal effectively nullifies last week’s announcement of new leadership across key NTA departments, including news, marketing and NTA Enterprises.
