President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reportedly dismissed the Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, and appointed Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, as his replacement.

Although an official announcement was still pending at the time of reporting, sources within the Presidency informed The Eagle Online that formal confirmation was expected shortly.

Disu, who was recently elevated to the rank of AIG, had been assigned to lead the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Lagos prior to his new appointment. Born on September 4, 1964, he was originally scheduled to retire from the Nigeria Police Force in September 2024 before his tenure was extended.
