Veteran Nigerian singer Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba (formerly 2Face), has made a startling revelation about his troubled marriage to actress Annie Idibia, describing it as a period of emotional captivity and fear for his life.

In a teaser from an upcoming episode of the +234 Mzansi Podcast, co-hosted by Nigerian comedians Nedu and Acapella alongside South African media personality Kifilwe, 2Baba opened up about his painful marital experience.

“This thing wey dem call ‘living in bondage’ is real. There were some people who were ready to kill me,” he said in response to a question about the breakdown of his marriage. The singer went on to characterize the relationship as a form of “bondage,” implying that his emotional and physical safety was threatened during the union.

2Baba and Annie got married in May 2012 and share two daughters, Isabella and Olivia. The couple had faced public scrutiny over the years due to rumors of infidelity and internal conflicts.

The singer officially announced their separation via a controversial post on his social media page on Sunday, January 26, 2025. The announcement shocked fans and triggered widespread speculation. Not long after, 2Baba began appearing publicly with Natasha Osawuru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly, who is now believed to be his new partner.
