Nigerian music sensation Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has achieved a groundbreaking milestone, becoming the best-selling female artist in African history.

According to updated chart data, Tems has now sold over 25 million units globally, surpassing African music heavyweights like Angélique Kidjo, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, and others. Her impressive sales numbers include singles and albums certified across various regions worldwide.

In the United States alone, Tems has earned multiple certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Her hit collaboration “Essence” with Wizkid is now 5× Platinum, “Wait For U” with Future and Drake is 3× Platinum, “Free Mind” is certified 2× Platinum, and “Higher” has reached Platinum status.

Beyond the U.S., the award-winning artist has also received Platinum and Gold certifications in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Belgium, Switzerland, South Africa, and France, among others.
