A health insurance program for theater professionals in the State is being planned, according to Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Gov sanwo-Olu stated this on Monday night when he hosted some veterans in the Yoruba movie/Nollywood industry at the Lagos House in Marina.
The Governor noted that the movie industry and practitioners themselves play key roles in the development of society, adding that the industry was one of the biggest employers of labour.
According to him, the industry is able to do great things despite not having enough support, and even providing succour and comfort to millions.
He said: “Your industry teaches how well to behave and how not to in society and so it is necessary for us to collaborate to ensure the profession gets to greater heights, and also help veterans live a more fulfilled life.
